Perfect at shooting and hero of the Clippers’ (non-victorious) comeback in Dallas, Nicolas Batum delivered a magnificent match last night. The opportunity to show that the tricolor winger is still as important on the LA side
5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists average since the start of the season. Apart from the end of the course in Charlotte, Nicolas Batum had not had such low stats since his rookie year in Portland. Scoring is no longer really Batman’s priority, it’s certainly not a necessity given the number of players who can take on this job this season in Los Angeles. The captain of the Blues remains in this role which suits him so well at the Clippers, that of the ultimate glue guy. Defend, make screens, participate in the game, make shifts, take important shots, in short all the little things that are not necessarily seen on the box score but which cement Tyronn Lue’s collective. However, this night, our tricolor winger recovered his share of the spotlight. As LA chased following the score, the Blues captain stepped up at the best of times. Author of 22 points, including 13 in money time alone, but also 5 rebounds and 1 interception, Batum was essential to preserve the hopes of victory for his team. The most impressive, his shooting percentage: 100% and 7/7 from the parking lot. It’s simple, Nico only took shots from afar. According StatMuseexpert in advanced stats, Nicolas Batum is the only player to have scored so many 3-point shots in a single game without the slightest failure this season.

It’s a nice stat for Batman but sadly it comes in a loss. In any case, it is proof that the winger is still capable of assuming a leadership role within his LA team. We obviously do not expect him to give us this kind of performance every night. but, like once morest Indiana, Portland or Minnesota last year, these are games where Batum is able to come out of his box at the right time to help his people. This time, it did not bear fruit but the opponents of the Clippers are warned, the native of Lisieux is able to chain the strings from Castorama. With 42.9% at long distance, he is also on his way to achieving his best career season.. His previous personal best is 40.9%, it was during his sophomore year (just over 36% career). A good omen for the rest of the Clippers season and the next matches in Blue.
Nicolas Batum was heroic for the Clippers but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to turn Dallas around. We cross our fingers to see many hot shots from the Frenchman this season.
