They dream of starting a big family!

Billy (20) and Ellie (21) live in the UK. They make a rather unusual couple. While young people their age are carefree and only think regarding going out to party, these two have already built a home.
« It’s true, we don’t have the typical life of other people our age. It’s hard to believe, but we’ve always been focused on family. We both dreamed of having children. So we made it work (…). When I found out I was pregnant with Lola, we started saving and sacrificing everything, like nights out, weekends away, and buying new clothes. Luckily, we were both still living at home, rent-free, so we were able to save as much as we might. We saved on everything, even food! », Explains the young woman.
They were so happy when they welcomed their little girl that they hoped to quickly give her a brother or sister. Their prayers were answered. Unfortunately, the pregnancy ended in a heartbreaking miscarriage. The couple took this loss very badly, so much so that when Ellie became pregnant once more, doubts assailed her. “ It was both exciting and scary », says the mother. “ Once you lose a child, it can be traumatic to be at risk of losing them once more “, she emphasizes.
The surprise of the century!

Even though they were distressed, they wanted to cling to the hope of a happy outcome this time. And, unexpectedly, during the twelve-week check-up, they were told that they were expecting not one but three babies! Needless to say, they were completely in shock. Can you imagine their astonishment at this unexpected news? Ellie was pregnant with triplets! Knowing that her doctor made her understand that a multiple pregnancy is far from easy to live with and that the birth was not without risk. No matter the threat hanging over them, the young parents were determined to see the adventure through to the end.
The couple was surprised by this lovely news, but decided to continue the pregnancy following all medical recommendations. “ We are well aware that we do not have the typical life of other people our age… However, knowing that we are expected to triplets, it’s a real shock for any mother, at any age! », admits Ellie. Fortunately, Ellie and her partner knew they were mature enough to take on the challenge.

The triplets were born prematurely, but healthy. When they arrived into the world, they brought joy to their parents and their older sister Lola. “ I know it must be difficult for people to understand our motivations. Given our age, many do not understand why we embark on such an adventure with our eyes closed. But, you have to understand that we have always dreamed of having a big family, that’s what drives Billy and me. We succeeded the first time with Lola, I know it will be the same with our other children (…). In fact, even the nurses were impressed by our maturity when caring for our babies. », confides the young mother.
It is indeed difficult to understand what can push young adults to abandon the activities of their age to play mom and dad so prematurely. Especially when we know that they will be subject to all kinds of pressures, tensions and responsibilities on a daily basis. But, it is a very personal choice, following all. Even though their lives are now turned upside down, with 4 children under the same roof, Billy and Ellie seem to have the strong nerves to build their home and provide for their family. Against all odds, the couple managed to save enough money to buy a house. These young parents command respect since they have a sense of values and priorities, they devote themselves completely to work and family.
Regardless of the views or judgment of others, this is how they see their balance and their own happiness…and as long as they are happy, we can only take our hats off to them!
