CELIAPP

Future owners who contribute to CELIAPP, which came into force in 2023, should know that a new document will be published by Canadian banks.

The latter is called the T4FHSA and will be given to taxpayers who have invested up to $8,000 before December 31, 2023.

For amounts contributed in 2024, these amounts will be deductible in 2025.

“We added a second additional layer. What we want with the Quebec Pension Plan or the Canada Pension […] we added a layer of $65,000 to $73,500. It will cost the taxpayer $188 more,” he said.

This measure will make it possible to have higher pensions when receiving benefits at the age of 65, according to François Gagnon.

If you are 65 years old and you receive the QPP, “you can ask your boss to no longer contribute to the Quebec Pension Plan.”

Tax brackets

Remember that the first two tax brackets will be reduced by 1% by Revenu Québec.

“The more money you make, at the height of $100,000, it’s a little over $800 [d’économies]», continues Mr. Gagnon.
