2024 Paralympic Games: Jean-Michel Jarre to headline the closing ceremony

The closing ceremony Paralympic Gameson September 8 at the Stade de France, will take the form of a large electro concert bringing together 24 artists and DJs including Jean-Michel Jarre, its organizers announced on Friday. The festivities will begin with the parade of 4,400 athletes, the passing of the baton to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games before the concert, the Cojop (Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games) told AFP, confirming information from the daily newspaper Le Parisien.

The “French Touch” in the spotlight

French electro pope Jean-Michel Jarre will open and close the three-hour ceremony, for which tickets are still on sale. He told Le Parisien that “very happy » to participate in “this celebration of French sport and electro in all its diversity”.

Alongside him, other big names of the “French Touch” will perform, already in the spotlight for the closing of the Olympic Games: Etienne de Crécy, Cassius and Kavinsky, who set the stadium alight during this ceremony, performing with Angèle and Phoenix.

Like the other three ceremonies, this one was imagined by Thomas Jolly, artistic director, and Victor Le Masne for music. DJs Martin Solveig, Kungs, The Avener, but also Ofenbach, Polo & Pan, Pedro Winter (known under the pseudonym Busy P), Breakbot and Irfane, Agoria, DJ Falcon, GREG, Boston Bun, Alan Braxe, Kittin, Irène Drésel are also expected.

The Paralympic Games will be launched on Wednesday with an opening ceremony outside the stadiums, the details of which are still being kept secret, and which will take place between the Champs-Élysées and the Place de la Concorde.
