The Indonesian badminton team will begin their struggle at the 2024 Olympics. Four Indonesian representatives will be in action on the first day of the badminton competition at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena, Paris, Saturday (27/7) WIB.
In the group stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indonesian women’s doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti will appear first. Apriyani/Fadia who are in Group A will face the Japanese pair, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara.
“We will be the first representatives in the badminton branch competing tomorrow (27/7), we have prepared optimally,” said Apriyani.
“From the initial process to the training camp, entering one week before arriving, it was very close like this, from the training menu it is definitely different. Improvements and thank God we feel ready to compete,” he added.
Apriyani/Fadia have studied the opponent’s game video to prepare a strategy. Although on paper they win the head-to-head record, Apriyani/Fadia will remain focused and highly alert.
“We have to focus and we have to know how we will play,” added Fadia.

On the same day, following Apriyani/Fadia, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will appear in the men’s doubles Group C. The 2024 All England champions will face German representatives, Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel.
Mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari will also battle it out against South Korean representatives, Kim Won-ho/Jeong na-eun.
In the men’s singles sector, Jonatan Christie will appear to start the first match of Group L. Jojo, Jonatan’s nickname, will face Belgian player, Julien Carraggi. (Z-6)
