One MICHELIN Star

O by Brush (Sushi-Japanese cuisine)

Situated within an upscale shopping center, O by Brush unveils a hidden gem where discerning patrons can indulge in a sophisticated omakase experience, personally curated by Chef Jason Liang. Each dining journey is an elaborate procession that starts with tantalizing starters before introducing nigiri options that include exquisitely rich shima aji and warayaki sawara, which is hay-smoked for that perfect depth of flavor. Additionally, the anago tempura temaki, finished over binchotan coals, provides an unforgettable flavor profile. Diners will also be surprised by a delightful tasting of dry-aged hirame and kanpachi along with an innovative tamago tasting, which highlights both classic and cake-like interpretations. The extensive sake selection, offered by the glass or carafe, pairs beautifully with each course.

Omakase Table (Sushi-Japanese cuisine)

This intimate counter-focused establishment is led by Chef Leonard Yu, who orchestrates a sophisticated multi-course dining experience interwoven with traditional techniques while maintaining a balance of seasonal ingredients. The meal begins with otsumami, including delicately shaved Wagyu beef lightly poached in sukiyaki sauce paired with a quail egg. The chef’s pièce de résistance, uni gohan with otoro, is seemingly decadent, while the corn potage showcases profound flavors. The nigiri served here boasts a unique character; highlights include Kawahagi topped with flash-frozen liver paste that melts effortlessly on the tongue and perfectly seared sharkskin sole with engawa. To cap off the meal, vanilla ice cream is elevated through the fascinating addition of aged shoyu.

Spring (Contemporary cuisine)

Nestled in Marietta, this quaint yet stylish restaurant enchants with its exposed brick and vaulted wooden ceilings, creating an inviting atmosphere. Chef Brian So curates a succinct, contemporary American menu that embodies seasonal integrity. Here, the culinary philosophy values skillfully simple cooking, allowing premium ingredients to shine, while each plate is a visual delight without veering into ostentation. The house-made sourdough with garlic chive butter is a must-try, yet one should save room for the highlights like their pan-seared wild king salmon topped with luscious Hollandaise sauce and trout roe. To satisfy your sweet cravings, don’t miss the bold maple-glazed cruller served with sliced almonds in an amaretto crème anglaise—the dessert is as imaginative as it is indulgent.

Staplehouse (Contemporary cuisine)

This charming eatery opens its doors two nights a week, inviting diners for an engaging experience in the heart of the Old Fourth Ward. With elements like an open kitchen and rustic exposed brick, the place radiates a warm, communal charm that enhances the convivial dining atmosphere. Featuring a thoughtfully curated contemporary tasting menu that embraces a down-to-earth approach, the offerings here are hearty yet unfussy. Rather than the typically expected foie gras or caviar, diners are treated to an impressive cabbage course bursting with flavor. A thick slice of perfectly grilled sirloin steak paired with crispy morel mushrooms, alongside grilled gem lettuce and delicate sprouting cauliflower florets, completes the savory offerings. To end on a sweet note, an exquisite citrus tart accompanied by honeycomb candy is perfectly crafted.

Bib Gourmand

The MICHELIN Guide Inspectors have extended their recognition to four exceptional restaurants awarded the Bib Gourmand distinction, celebrating eateries that deliver remarkable cuisine at accessible prices.

Masterpiece (Chinese cuisine)

A beloved destination, Masterpiece in Duluth serves up authentic Sichuan specialties that have garnered a loyal following. Though situated in a quaint strip mall, the culinary standout is known for its no-nonsense approach—focus on the flavor. The warm, inviting interiors featuring light tile floors and yellow walls lined with red booths set the stage for a family-style dining experience. Signature dishes, such as the tender dong po pork belly steeped in a sweet, rich sauce, exemplify the intense flavors this kitchen is capable of crafting. Meanwhile, their uniquely prepared eggplant, sliced into thick matchsticks, is lightly fried and then dusted with chili powder for a delightful crunch that balances the dish.

Superica (Tex-Mex cuisine)

At the vibrant Krog Street Market, Superica’s original location offers an energetic atmosphere defined by a contemporary design featuring high ceilings and an open kitchen, packed full of diners seeking out flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine. The popularity of the fare starts with their nearly instantaneously served paper-thin tortillas paired with salsa, escalating to shareable portions of queso fundido—where toppings can be personalized with vegetables, shrimp, or chorizo. Classic enchiladas accompanied by rice and beans are a staple, while their tacos al carbon tantalize with smoked onions paired with a selection of savory proteins. Patrons will find the ice-cold margaritas an inviting accompaniment to any meal.

Table & Main (Southern cuisine)

Located within a charming, converted home in Roswell, Table & Main exudes Southern charm at its finest, attracting a well-dressed clientele filled with festivity and conversation. Under the guidance of Chef Woolery “Woody” Back, the kitchen prides itself on seasonal Southern fare that leans into the region’s flavors. To start, indulge in cornbread or “pigs in quilts,” and when the season calls, be sure to experience offerings like asparagus bisque—steaming and fulfilling. Their fried chicken is a standout dish bursting with flavor, with portions generous enough to guarantee delightful leftovers, while classic sides like mac and cheese and collard greens enhance the Southern experience.

Whoopsie’s (American cuisine)

A delightful and whimsical destination, Whoopsie’s has garnered attention for its ever-evolving menu filled with both hot and cold dishes, ensuring that every visit feels fresh and exciting. Diners are welcomed with generous portions, and the cooking style is grounded in sincerity rather than sophistication. Start your meal with the Southern snack tray, comically served on a plastic cafeteria tray, brimming with classic offerings like pimento cheese spread, chow chow, pickled vegetables, and pork terrine. The dessert selection varies, but don’t miss the chance to savor their pecan pie should it grace the menu on your visit—a perfect conclusion to your dining experience.

About the MICHELIN Guide

Globally recognized for its commitment to excellence, the MICHELIN Guide presents a curated selection of world-class dining establishments.

  • The renowned one, two, and three MICHELIN Stars distinguish those restaurants serving extraordinary cuisine, characterized by bold flavors and impeccable execution, mirroring the talent of skilled chefs.
  • The Bib Gourmand honors select eateries that provide high-quality food at excellent value—often noted as the inspectors’ personal favorites during their own meals.
  • The MICHELIN Green Star commends restaurants that are leaders in sustainable gastronomy, furthering culinary responsibility.
  • Recommendations of restaurants and unique professional awards get special emphasis by MICHELIN Guide inspectors.

The MICHELIN Guide is an indispensable companion for any traveler in pursuit of unforgettable culinary experiences and excellent hospitality. First published in France over a century ago to encourage car travel and promote tire sales, it has successfully transitioned to emphasizing restaurant and hotel recommendations, ensuring that the same rigorous criteria still apply today.

Every restaurant included in the Guide has been recommended by Michelin’s trained anonymous inspectors, ensuring adherence to the same tried-and-true selection methods utilized for decades globally.

To thoroughly evaluate a restaurant’s quality, inspectors employ five Michelin-defined criteria: product quality, mastery of cooking techniques, synchronization of flavors, the chef’s personality reflected in the cuisine, and consistent excellence over time and across the menu. These standards ensure that the evaluation of a Starred restaurant holds equal significance whether it is in Paris, New York or anywhere else in the world.
