The Chamber of Deputies approved the 2024 finance law on Friday in Montecitorio, following two days of debate, marking the final stage of the adoption of next year’s budget.
The text of 109 articles, already validated by the Senate on December 22, received final approval from Parliament without modifications.
Mobilizing around 24 billion euros, the finance law allocates more than 8 billion over two years for contract renewals and increases in the public sector. More than 2 billion are allocated to health and 5 billion to other sectors, including security and defense.
Tourism workers will also receive a bonus for night work and public holidays from the first half of 2024.
Among the confirmed measures are also the reduction of the tax wedge and the extension of the savings card.
The budgetary maneuver also allocates funds to promote the birth rate, through pro-natal aid.
The preschool education bonus has, in this sense, been extended, which will make it possible to cover school fees from the second child onwards.
According to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, this approval constitutes “a positive sign for an important maneuver, which puts family, work and businesses at the center, principles which guide government action”.
For his part, the Minister of the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, called on the various actors “to continue on the path of responsibility and trust”.
