2024 Vice Presidential Candidate-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka congratulated the participants of the 2024 National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) II of the Catholic Youth held at the Aimas Convention Center, Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua received. Gibran greeted the Rapimnas participants who came from all provinces from Sabang to Merauke virtually or via video call.
“I congratulate the participants of the 2nd National Working Meeting of Catholic Youth, greetings to all, I hope the event runs smoothly,” said Gibran as quoted, Saturday (6/7).
Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia during the 2nd Rapimnas invited Catholic Youth cadres and activists to be smart in becoming young investors in the capital market. The involvement of the younger generation in the economic system must be a serious concern.
“The high-quality young generation will have an important role in Indonesia’s economic growth,” said Bahlil.
Referring to the theme of Rapimnas II, “Participation and Real Contribution of Catholic Youth Cadres Towards Golden Indonesia in 2045”, Bahlil emphasized that the younger generation needs to build a strong economic structure through entrepreneurship and professionalism. Youth organizations should not be managed in the old way.
“Youth must stand on their own two feet to build strong human resources and that can be realized with strong economic resilience,” concluded Bahlil.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Central Board of Catholic Youth, Stefanus Gusma, welcomed Gibran’s appreciation.
“We are very happy to have a surprise from Mas Gibran, it adds to the enthusiasm of us participants in the National Working Meeting,” said Gusma.
Gusma explained that the second National Working Meeting also discussed the orchestration of the work of the Catholic Youth organization during his leadership period, approximately two and a half years.

According to Gusma, the organizational governance paradigm that has been the organization’s vision so far has been running well, although it requires more effort to achieve the organization’s dreams.
“The Catholic Youth cadres have worked on several business units that demonstrate the Catholic Youth’s commitment to move forward in packaging organizational governance in a new way,” Gusma emphasized.
One of the orchestrations that will be held is the arrival of Pope Francis to Indonesia in September 2024, the Catholic Youth Cadre Participation Strategy Towards Golden Indonesia 2045, and Preparations for the 19th Catholic Youth Congress. (Z-8)
