On June 14, our city held the 2023 World Blood Donor Day Celebration and Commendation Ceremony and the Launching Ceremony of Emergency Activities for Unpaid Blood Donation in Summer. Mu Hongdi, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, Xu Chaowen, deputy mayor and director of the Municipal People’s Blood Donation Management Committee, and Liu Shurong, vice chairman of the CPPCC attended the meeting.

To do a good job in unpaid blood donation, Xu Chaowen pointed out that the first is to improve the standing and always put the protection of people’s health in the first place. Departments at all levels should deepen their understanding, take voluntary blood donation as a public support project, establish a high-quality blood safety supply guarantee system, and fully promote the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of voluntary blood donation. The second is to shoulder the responsibility and work together to promote the work of voluntary blood donation. The third is to organize carefully to ensure that the emergency blood donation activities are effective.
After the meeting, Xu Chaowen and his entourage came to Jinmingchi Square to participate in the “Donate Blood, Share Life” World Blood Donor Day summer emergency blood donation and popular science promotion activity. At the scene of the activity, Xu Chaowen and the volunteers carried out unpaid blood donations in an orderly manner in front of the blood donation car, and interpreted love with practical actions.
