2023 NBA Playoffs: Schedule, Format, and Latest Updates

The NBA regular season has concluded and there is a lot of expectation regarding what the 2023 playoffs will be, on the way to The Finals. Before the last places for the first round will be defined with the ‘play in’ tournament, so we will tell you how the postseason will be played.

The ‘play in’ tournament was implemented in 2020 and has been used in the NBA since then, placing the teams that finished in positions 7 to 10 in each conference in competition, all in search of two teams that remain with the last two seeds from the first round of the playoffs.

First, the franchises that finished in positions 7 and 8 will collide, with the winner of these duels being the 7th seed of their respective conference. The losers of these matches will have to face those who win the keys between teams 9 and 10 to define who will get the last spot. The meeting schedule is as follows:

The calendar set by the NBA for the postseason starts this Tuesday with the ‘play in’ tournament, which seeks to define the last two places in each conference for the first round of the playoffs. The dates set for its completion are as follows:

When defining the eight qualifiers of each conference, the pairings for the first round are made with respect to the seed they represent as follows:

Each series will be played for the best of seven games, with the team that has finished the regular phase with the best home record in games 1 and 2, but also if necessary in games 5 and 7. They will be resolved in the same way the rest of the series throughout the playoffs.

And finally, The 2023 NBA Finals would be arranged between the respective champions of the Eastern and Western conferences.
