2023-06-20 08:58:21

The most spectacular thing about the NBA is what happens on the court each season, obviously. The best basketball in the world is played in the American league whose international popularity grew thanks to the high quality of its players and the marketing machinery that promotes it. There is so much money circulating around this business because the show justifies it: what fans see every year in this competition is unparalleled.

But that main show has a precedent that captures the attention of the press and the fans because it is decisive for what will happen later in the competition: the nba drafta process that has been carried out since 1947 with the aim of equalizing conditions. The worst ranked teams in the regular championship have the option of taking over the best promises in basketball.

The 30 NBA franchises choose the players of the future in two rounds. In each round there are 30 players, and each team has two choices or “picks”, one for each round. A total of 60 players under the age of 23 are then fighting to enter the best league in the world.

After the top four positions (from the lottery placement system) are selected, the remainder of the first round draft order is reverse of the win-loss record of the remaining teams. Besides, the lottery does not determine the order in the later rounds of the draft.
