Voting Phase 2 of the 2023 MLB All-Star Scotts Ballot concluded Thursday and the remaining starters for the All-Star Game, presented by Mastercard and set to take place July 11 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, were announced. on ESPN.
Angels RB Shohei Ohtani and Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. each earned spots in their respective starting lineups for being the top vote-getters in the American League and National League, respectively, during Phase 1 The players who prevailed in Phase 2 of the voting, which make up the rest of the All-Star Game starters, are listed below.
Nine different clubs are represented among the starters chosen this year, led by Rangers with four. The Braves and Dodgers are tied for the NL lead with three starters apiece, while the Rays and Angels also have multiple starters. Eight players won the fan vote for the first time in their careers, including a pair of rookies.
Full All-Star rosters, including backup pitching and position players for both teams, will be announced Sunday at 5:30 pm ET on ESPN. The pitchers and bench players, a total of 23 for each team, will be chosen through the “Players Ballot” and the selections made by the Commissioner’s Office.
