2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Gets Top Safety Award

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today announced that the all-new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has been named a TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP).

IIHS is an independent, not-for-profit organization that researches, evaluates, and assesses crashworthiness and crash-avoidance testing safety ratings of production vehicles.

The TSP designation is awarded to models that score “Good” in IIHS driver and passenger side small overlap frontal tests, the original moderate overlap frontal, and an Acceptable rating in side crash resistance evaluations. updated from IIHS.

In addition, vehicles must be available with an Advanced or higher rating for Daytime Vehicle-Pedestrian Frontal Crash Prevention and must come with standard headlights rated Acceptable or Good.
