It is this Saturday, August 19, 2023 that the international cycling tour of Guyana begins. The event is divided into 9 stages with its 122 registered riders, from around twenty clubs. Among them, a selection from Martinique whose 6 members hope to do much better than in Guadeloupe recently.
The kick-off of the international cycling tour of Guyana is given this Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Cayenne.
This 32nd edition will be contested in 9 stages, i.e. 1234.84 km to be covered for the 122 riders entered this year. Only one of them will succeed Lars Oreel, the Dutch rider who won the competition in 2022.
Delegations invited to the starting line :
Great Britain, ASPTT Nancy, Netherlands, Germany, La Roche Vendée Cycliste, Team Born’heures, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic, Martinique.
The Guyanese teams lined up:
the Vélo Club Guyanais, the USL Montjoly Orange, the Sprint Club of Macouria, the Croix du Sud of Matoury, the Vélo Club of Kourou, the Vélo Club du Maroni, the mixed team (SCM/CDSM/VCG) l’Espoir Guyanese cyclist (2 teams), Vélo Club Sinnamary (2 teams). Concerning the selection of Martinique, it relies on 6 members who are Edwin Nubul (79), Jean-Emmanuel Laurendot (80), Owan Nubul (81), Josué Hodebourg-Rinna (82), Kyllian Boscher (83) and Thierry Ragot (84).
The roadmap is clear: to do much better than during the international tour of Guadeloupe, which took place from August 4th to 13th.
The first stage of the 2023 Tour of French Guiana takes place between Cayenne and Rémire-Montjoly, over a 144 km course.
