Instead of the GS8 crossover, GAC will release the ES9 model
About a month ago, sales of the 2023 GAC GS8 crossover of the new generation started in Russia. But now it became known that the manufacturer stops the production of this model. However, she will not leave at least the home market. The fact is that the ES9 will replace the GS8, a car that almost completely copies the outgoing crossover.
This is evidenced by information published by the Chinese Ministry of Industry (photo: Chinese Ministry of Industry). Judging by the pictures, in preparation for ES9, the manufacturer updated it a bit. In particular, the crossover has a different grille, which has a more massive configuration than its predecessor. However, another modification of ES9 will differ in this execution. The crossover itself in the basic version will visually turn out to be an almost complete copy of its predecessor.
According to rumors, the novelty will be equipped by default with a 2-liter 190-horsepower turbo engine. Optionally, they will also offer a hybrid version with the same unit, but thanks to an additional electric motor, the total output will increase to 373 hp. Author: Fedor Averiev
