■ Q1: Partly sunny skies over the course

The weather was worrisome before qualifying, which started 10 minutes late, but the sun was shining through the clouds in the pits. However, it looks like it will be a difficult qualifying with rain clouds around Turn 5, which follows the straight following running up the Eau Rouge.

With the exception of Logan Sargent (Williams), who had trouble in FP1, everyone entered the track on intermediate tires. If the record line dries, it will be possible to use dry tires.

■Yuki Tsunoda breaks through Q1!

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) was fastest in Q1, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was second and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was third.

Alpha Tauri F1 equipped with Honda RBPT, 34-year-old Daniel Ricciardo recorded the time to break through Q1 in the second race of his return, but the time was deleted due to the track limit and was 19th, and Yuki Tsunoda passed Q1 in 9th. bottom. Yuki Tsunoda surpassed Ricciardo’s best time, which was deleted, and a good time in difficult conditions is likely to lead to a high evaluation.

Oscar Piastri (McLaren) was fastest in Q2, followed by Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).

At the end, the time improved one following another, so Max Verstappen (Red Bull) broke through Q2 at the last minute in 10th place, 1.250 seconds behind the top.

Yuki Tsunoda was 11th and unfortunately missed out on Q3, but considering the power of the machine, it should be a great fight.

During the final attack, Esteban Ocon (Alpine) lost machine control on the wet road and ran off the track. I hit the wall and broke the front wing. Although he was able to drive back to the pit, the time ran out.
