The Panigale V4 SP2 is the top-of-the-range model of Ducati’s super sports motorcycles: a special and exciting version for riding on the track and on the road, unlike the R, but also more intuitive and aimed at riders of all levels. The SP2 is characterized by the special “Winter Test” livery, designed by Ducati’s Centro Stile taking inspiration from the Ducati Corse motorcycles used during pre-season testing of the MotoGP and SBK championships. The matte black of the superstructures, combined with the matte carbon finish of the rims and spoilers, contrasts with the bright red accents and the shine of the exposed brushed aluminum tank, which can also be found on the radiator side covers.
The chassis of the Panigale V4 SP2 features an aluminum front frame that uses the Desmosedici Stradale as a stress member. The aluminum swingarm and saddle mount are directly connected to the engine. The swingarm pivot is positioned to reduce rear end dip when exiting corners and when re-opening the throttle, thus stabilizing the motorcycle during acceleration. The suspension system features an electronically controlled 125mm travel Öhlins NPX25/30 pressurized fork at the front, which uses a pressurized cartridge damping system derived from that of racing forks.
The heart of the Panigale V4 SP2 is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale of MotoGP origin: a V4 with a counter-rotating crankshaft with significant torque from low revs and capable of expressing the racing soul of the bike on the track . The engine delivers 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm, catapulting the bike to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds for a top speed of around 300 km/h. To further improve the track performance and dynamic qualities of the Panigale V4, the SP2 is equipped with exclusive Brembo Stylema R front brake calipers and 5-spoke carbon rims, 1.4 kg lighter than forged rims. in aluminum of the Panigale V4 S.
