There are only a couple of days left until the final of the 2023 Copa Libertadores is played between Boca Juniors and Fluminense. Both teams are looking to break their own streak that is haunting them.
In the case of Flu, they are looking for their first Copa Libertadores, following losing the first one they played once morest the Quito League in 2008 and Boca later winning 16 years without winning the title. The last one was won from Gremio in 2007.
With the context explained, Romario, a historic Brazilian player, made some incendiary statements in the run-up to the final that were not liked much in Argentina.
The former footballer who had his own time at Fluminense between 2022 and 2004, said that: “The one who should win the Copa Libertadores is Fluminense. Screw the Argentines, those sons of bitches from Boca are going to end their ass… broken. I have been from Fluminense since I was born, I have a lot of love for the club.”
Along the same lines, Romario stated: “It is the most charming hobby I have had the opportunity to know. Fluminense is the best team and they really deserve it. Diniz is the best coach we have. He does not have time to do with the national team what he does in the club, which is his strong point, the training, the union of these players, he does what he can.”
Boca Juniors will face Fluminense on November 4th at the Maracaná stadium at 2:00 in the followingnoon Honduras time.
