TASS, January 23. The Uzbekistan national football team drew with the Australian team with a score of 1:1 in the match of the third round of the group stage of the Asian Cup and guaranteed participation in the playoffs of the tournament. The competition takes place in Qatar.
Azizbek Turgunbaev scored for the Uzbekistan team (79th minute), and Martin Boyle scored for the Australian team (45+1, penalty).
CSKA Moscow midfielder Abbos Faizullaev was replaced in the 63rd minute. Rubin Kazan defender Rustamjon Ashurmatov played a full match.
In another match of Group B, the Syrian team beat the Indian team with a score of 1:0. The first place in the final table of the quartet was taken by the Australian team (7 points), followed by the teams of Uzbekistan (5), Syria (4) and India (0).
24 teams take part in the Asian Cup, which are divided into six groups. The two best teams from each quartet and the four best teams from those who took third place advance to the 1/8 finals.
