2023 Asian Athletics Championships: Hong Kong Team Sets New Record in Women’s 4×400 Relay

[Sports News]The 2023 Asian Athletics Championships today (16th) received good news from Shake. The women’s 4×400 relay team composed of Xu Yingen, Ma Yingwen, Deng Peijun and Zou Ziqiu set a new record in Hong Kong with 3 minutes 46.87 seconds; and Zhang Peixian, who broke the new record of 5 meters in the pole vault in October last year, failed in all three attempts in the final and has no record of results.

The women’s relay team composed of Xu Yingen, Ma Yingwen, Deng Peijun and Zou Ziqiu competed in the 4×400 relay final in the evening. Although they only finished 6th with a time of 3:46.87, they still broke the Hong Kong record by 2 seconds. The old Hong Kong record is 3 minutes 48 seconds 54 set by Li Yanyou, Cai Sichen, Zou Ziqiu and Xu Yingen at the Asian Youth Championship in Korea in June this year.

The Hong Kong team took the lead in the 20km race walking final this morning. In the women’s group, Cheng Xiaoya won the seventh place in 1 hour, 42 minutes and 14 seconds. As for Qian Wenjie, who finished 8th in the men’s category with a time of 1 hour, 36 minutes and 40 seconds, the champion of the women’s category was won by Chinese player Yang Liujing, who finished in 1 hour, 32 minutes and 38 seconds; Japan’s Yutaro Murayama won.

In addition, the Hong Kong team has Tse Chun-yin and Qu Zhiying in the men’s and women’s 5000m finals. Xie Junxian ranked 17th with 15:49.42; Qu Zhiying ranked 11th with 18:13.90.

In terms of field events, Zhang Peixian, who jumped 5 meters in October last year, failed in three attempts to jump 4 meters 61 in the pole vault final. There is no record.
