[서프라이즈뉴스] Ulsan City announced that it will hold a ‘2023-2024 season COVID-19 vaccination rate improvement meeting’ with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, Ulsan City Medical Association, and Gyeongnam Area Disease Response Center at the Office of the Director of Civil Health at City Hall at 11 a.m. on November 8.
At this meeting, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency will provide information on the background and necessity of COVID-19 vaccination, and the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine.
Ulsan City explains the current status of the COVID-19 vaccination drive and the citizen promotion plan for simultaneous vaccination of flu and COVID-19 vaccines to prepare for the pandemic this winter.
Since October 19, Ulsan City has been vaccinating COVID-19 vaccines for people over 65 years old, immunocompromised people, and members of facilities vulnerable to infection, and starting in November, it is promoting vaccinations for all citizens over 6 months old.
Citizens who wish to be vaccinated can visit a consignment medical institution on the same day and receive the vaccination without an appointment, and can also receive flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time.
Currently, the COVID-19 vaccination rate for people over 65 years old in Ulsan is 22.3%.
An Ulsan city official said, “Immunity to COVID-19 decreases over time even following vaccination, so we ask people, especially those aged 65 or older, to actively get vaccinated to prevent severe disease and death in high-risk groups.”
