J.J Spaun will attempt to go wire to wire at the St. Jude Championship, as he heads into the final round with a one-stroke lead at 13 under. Losing his edge early in the third round, the Texas Open winner remained steadfast throughout Saturday’s action and ultimately maintained his margin over Austrian Sepp Straka.
The two will be paired together once once more on Sunday, as they set to battle not only each other but a star-studded cast of pursuers.
Cameron Smith finished in a flurry and made birdie on two of his final three holes to propel his name to the first page of the leaderboard at 11 under. Joining him at that number is Will Zalatoris, who has rebounded with rounds of 63-65 following opening with a 1-over 71.
A couple of strokes back are U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick, four-time PGA Tour winner Sam Burns, and Tony Finau, who arrived in the playoffs having won his last two tournaments.
Combine the drama at the top of the leaderboard with the theatrics of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and Sunday should be filled with action. Numerous players will attempt to climb into the top 70 of the standings and thus punch their tickets into next week’s BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club.
Keep it locked here as CBS Sports will be keeping track of everything with live updates and analysis throughout Round 4 of the 2022 St. Jude Championship on Saturday.
