2022 LCK Media Day… The 10 teams selected for the championship are T1-Gen.

Ahead of the opening of the League of Legends e-sports competition, the 2022 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), 10 teams pledged to excel. Gen.G esports and T1 were selected as the strongest contenders for the championship.

On the 5th, the 2022 LCK Spring Media Day was held at CGV in Yongsan, Seoul. On this Media Day, the coaches and representatives of the 10 teams participating in the league were seated one by one, and they had time to promise their success and answer media questions.

The 2022 LCK spring draws attention in that it will be held after an unprecedented stove league ahead of the league opening. This is the reason why the strength of each team has changed significantly as players move from team to team in large numbers. Compared to the 2021 LCK Summer, there are only two teams remaining with three existing players: T1 and Fredt Brion.

Competition rules have also changed. The cycle of call-up and sand-down has been shortened from two weeks to one week, so roster exchange between each team’s LCK and League of Legends Challengers Korea is expected to be active. It is also worth noting that more strategic roster management is possible through this.

In addition, power analysts can now be registered on the official roster. Power analysts registered in the official roster can officially enter the coach box. Through this, more detailed match analysis and application of improvement points between each set is expected to be actively carried out.

Tickets to the World Championship, which will be held at the end of the year, will also be given through a different selection process than before. As with last year, if the LCK is given 4 places to participate in the World Championship, the winning team will compete for the World Championship with the 3rd seed among the remaining teams except for the 1st and 2nd seeds. Here, the losing team will play the final match against the winning team in the match for the 3rd and 4th places in the championship, and the protagonist of the 4th seed will be decided in this match.

If there are 3 World Championship tickets, the existing method will be applied.

Both rounds 1 and 2 of the regular league are held 5 days a week. Previously, round 1 was played 5 days a week, and round 2 was played 4 days a week.

In addition, the LCK Secretariat drew attention by revealing that it was planning to hold a match at the Jongno Roll Park this season.
