[한국강사신문 한상형 기자] According to Yonhap News, broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop announced that he was honored with the third KBS Entertainment Grand Prize in 10 years.
Shin Dong-yeop beat Kim Sook, Kim Jong-min, Lee Kyung-kyu, and Jeon Hyun-moo at the ‘2022 KBS Entertainment Awards’ held at the KBS New Building Public Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul from the followingnoon of the 24th to the morning of the 25th.
Shin Dong-yeop was selected as this year’s grand prize winner in recognition of his contribution to the KBS music contest program ‘Immortal Masterpiece’ since 2011.
He won the grand prize at the 1st KBS Entertainment Awards in 2002 with ‘Happy Together’, and won the grand prize once more in 2012 with ‘Hello’.
When Shin Dong-yeop was called this year’s grand prize winner, he said, “Thank you to the other candidates who did not perform well,” and said, “Thanks to all of you,” and laughed.
“I never expected to receive the grand prize this year,” he said.
He said, “The reason I received the Daesang is because there are so many singers who appeared in ‘Immortal Songs’ and I can’t name them all, so I think the award was given to me as a representative.”
Shin Dong-yeop, who debuted in the broadcasting world in 1991 as a special comedian on SBS, played an active part in the SBS comedy programs ‘Railman’, ‘Our Happy Saturday’, and the MBC sitcom ‘Three Men and Three Women’.
He built a unique character with the ’19-year-old gag’ that barely crosses the line, and later took on the role of hosting the KBS trouble counseling program ‘Hello’, SBS ‘Strong Heart’, and ‘My Little Old Boy’.
‘Immortal Masterpiece’ was selected as the best program award selected by viewer voting.
The honor of the 20th Anniversary Special Achievement Award went to the late Song Hae, who served as the host of the ‘National Singing Contest’ for decades.
