The ‘2022 ITF Incheon International Women’s Tennis Tour Tournament’, which welcomes spectators for the first time in three years, will be held from June 5 to 12 at Sipjeong-dong Yeol-Woomul Stadium.
The event has been canceled for the past two years in a row to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
However, as the city and the Incheon Tennis Association decided to hold the event this year to restore daily life and develop tennis sports, female tennis players from around the world can gather in Incheon to compete.
This competition is divided into two categories, individual and doubles competition, with regarding 100 players from 10 countries including Korea, China, Japan, USA and Russia participating. The match format is a tournament, with each match being played in three sets of matches.
It is a circuit-scale event following the Grand Slam and WTA Tour tournaments. The total prize money is 25,000 dollars (regarding 31 million Korean Won), and the winner of the tournament is given world ranking points.
