2022/23 UEFA Regions’ Cup, intermediate round start 22 August

The UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round begins on August 22 and will decide the eight participants in the final tournament in the summer of 2023.

35 associations took part in total, Malta and San Marino fielding their national amateur teams and the other associations being represented by the regional selections that won the qualifiers in their countries. The teams of the 30 associations presenting the highest coefficients in the competition start in the intermediate round and are joined by the two teams from the June preliminary round in Azerbaijan: “Kolos” Cherven from Belarus and Georgia’s Basiani.

The teams compete in eight mini-tournaments in eight different countries following which the group winners qualify for the final phase, which will take place, in principle, during the last two weeks of June 2023 in a country remaining to determine.

The competition returns following the cancellation of the 2020/21 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent edition dates back to 2018/19, when Poland’s Dolny Śląsk won the final once morest German hosts Bavaria (who are there once more).
