2021 was a good year for the Vienna Stock Exchange

Wien. Even if many investors have forgotten it in view of the losses of the past: 2021 was the year of the ATX. The financially-heavy index was able to show a performance of almost 40 percent over the course of the year and was thus among the best for the past year. In addition, the number of new listings has doubled with more than 7000 bonds and the domestic trading center is one of the leading in Europe. She has that too Vienna Stock Exchange benefits: Sales increased by 6.7 percent to 79.3 million euros, compared to 74.3 million euros in 2020.

The trading volume also increased by seven percent and now amounts to EUR 73 billion. The Vienna Stock Exchange is in great demand, especially among international investors. Over 80 percent of the share turnover comes from abroad, with the United States accounting for the largest part at over 28 percent. Stock exchange boss Christoph Boschan is happy about the international recognition when presenting the figures, but at the same time wishes for more investments from his own country.
