2020 Draft General Plan of St. Petersburg: 200 New Large Secondary Schools by 2040

2023-10-10 17:12:03

The draft General Plan of St. Petersburg included 200 new large secondary schools, which should be built in the city by 2040. This follows from the bill that Smolny submitted on October 10 for anti-corruption examination.

The territorial planning regulations list 200 new schools with a capacity of 825 places or more, as well as the reconstruction of Lyceum No. 393 on Avtovskaya Street with an increase in capacity.

It is worth noting that such large schools are on the list of objects of regional importance that should be displayed in the general plan. Smaller schools and kindergartens are not shown in the general plan.

If the table indicates that the school is planned for the first stage, this means that it must be built before 2030, if it is indicated that the “estimated period” is until 2040.

For example, it is planned to build 43 schools in the Pushkinsky district, 10 schools in the Vasileostrovsky district, and 11 educational institutions in the Vyborg and Krasnoselsky districts.
