In the presence of the secretary general of the wilaya of Beni Mellal, Brahim Boutmilat, the president of the provincial council, Mohamed Ouhnine, chaired, Monday, September 11, 2023, the ordinary session for the month of September 2023. The participants recited Surah Al Fatiha at the memory of the people who died during the earthquake which decimated the El Haouz region. Subsequently, the president declared that the Council will contribute financially for the benefit of the victims.

The first item on the Council’s agenda was devoted to the study and discussion of the procedures and measures taken for the successful start of the school, university and professional training 2023/2024 in the Beni Mellal region. Khenifra. The second point focused on the study and discussion of the measures taken for the launch of the 2023/2024 agricultural campaign in the region. A presentation on the results of the 2022/2023 agricultural season and the measures taken for the launch of the 2023/2024 agricultural season was presented.

On the subject of the start of the school year, the provincial director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Hamid Chagraoui, presented a presentation on the 2023/2024 school year in the province where he highlighted 11 points, namely the inaugurations for the new school year and its crucial stages, the area of ​​reception structures, students and classes, human resources, the educational area, non-formal education, social support, rehabilitation educational establishments, partnership agreements signed between the provincial management and the Provincial Council, local authorities, the National Initiative for Human Development in the wilaya of the region and civil society associations.

In addition, the members of the Provincial Council focused on the state of educational establishments at the provincial level and to what extent they are impacted by the earthquake as well as the need to carry out technical and engineering expertise to ensure the safety of students and educational staff. Subsequently, the aforementioned members highlighted a range of problems suffered by students and their parents, namely Dour Taliba and Talibate, the proliferation of the overtime “business”, the problems of school transport and its organization; school scholarships, preschool…

For his part, the representative of the university city presented a presentation on the measures taken relating to the 2023/2024 academic year, the registration procedures for Moroccan and foreign students in the city, the selection measures for registration , accommodation for old and new students, the increase in bed capacity which increased from 4,446 beds in 2021/2022 to 5,128 in 2022/2023, the problem of human resources and sports infrastructure in the university campus and its annexes , the absence of cultural and entertainment spaces, the transport problem… Finally, the representative of the university campus presented proposals for solving the problems and diversifying the university residential offer.
