20,000 nurses needed in Balochistan but only 1,000 appointed: Association

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, is facing a crisis of nursing staff in the health sector.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the standard requires 2.5 nurses per 1,000 population, but the president of Young Nurses Association of Balochistan, Chingiz Hosni, says that currently only 1058 nursing staff are working in the entire province. is doing while the need is for 20 thousand nurses.

Balochistan Health Minister Sardarzada Mir Faisal Jamali termed this problem as global and said that his government is trying to find a better solution to this problem and remove it wherever there is a shortage of nurses.

He said that we should encourage the nursing staff who carry out the responsibilities in the field. ‘Our effort is to make all the hospitals and nursing colleges of the entire province functional.’
