BUSINESSMED kicked off its anniversary celebrations on 14 September with a gala dinner at MUZA, an event organized in collaboration with its members from the Malta Employers Association – MEA in the beautiful city of Valletta in Malta and which brought together its members, partners and other partners in the Euro-Mediterranean business environment.
“We have gone through many unexpected changes in the past few years, from the pandemic to the current energy crisis,” Barbara Beltrame Giacomello said during her speech. These events constitute our priorities, as well as our current and future business. The business region and the Mediterranean region play a major role in determining the future of the business ecosystem. As an organization, we are proud to seize the opportunities that come at this time of change. More specifically, we have seen how smart internationalization and diversification are essential to our SMEs. The pandemic and energy crisis has highlighted our dependence on distant markets, and we need to seize this opportunity to bridge this gap. Close support and diversification will reduce the risks of dependency and disruption to our markets, strengthening the Mediterranean region as a whole and integrating it into the strong value chains connecting Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa. »
Since its inception, BUSINESSMED has been and remains a space for dialogue for major employer organizations. During the 20 years of existence, many dreams have come true, many projects have been conceived and many agreements have been reached. The anniversary was an opportunity to meet the key actors in the success of BUSINESSMED, to relive its history and highlight its future aspirations to promote socio-economic development in the Mediterranean region.
