A great sadness afflicted the artistic community following the death of the great artist Hisham Selim This morning, he passed away at the age of 64, following his struggle with cancer, the same disease that his late father, Maestro Saleh Selim suffered.
During the past days, and since Hisham Selim’s illness was announced, many rumors have spread that his health has deteriorated, but Hisham Selim dealt with his cancer with satisfaction, as his late father did.
Hisham Selim said during a previous interview on the “With You, Mona El-Shazly” program, that his father dealt with the news of his cancer very calmly, and he also spent his last period of fatigue among his family without complaining, despite the difficult period of his life.
During the meeting, Selim revealed that his late father Saleh Selim After knowing his injury was fine, he informed his private doctor that he must leave quickly to go to the cinema with his granddaughter, without worrying regarding this news, continuing: “The day he really took her, and she went to the cinema, and he did not speak at all, and I dealt very normal, this is fate and destiny, and he will walk in the procedures, not More and no less.”
His father had liver cancer in 1998, when Saleh was doing his regular check-ups every 6 months with his doctor. Then he learned that he had cancer and that the cancerous tumor that appeared in half of his liver might not be removed because the other half of his liver had cirrhosis due to his injury in Earlier in his life, he contracted the C virus, and he continued to suffer from the disease until his death in May 2002.
Hisham Selim’s first movie appearance was in the movie “Empire of M” 1972, then he participated in the films “I Want A Solution” 1975, and “The Return of the Prodigal Son” 1976..
Hisham studied at the Institute of Tourism and Hotels and graduated in 1981, then studied art at the Royal Academy in London through liberal studies and also studied the French language.
Then he began working on television in the late eighties of the twentieth century and presented the series (The White Flag, Layali Al-Helmeya, Arabesque, Hoanem Garden City, Places in the Heart, Meet on the Air).
