The National Coordination for the Education Sector, which includes 20 factional coordination, is preparing to go on a general strike in the education sector on October 5, coinciding with the first anniversary of the start of its protests that lasted for months and culminated in an amendment to the basic system and wage increases.

In parallel, the coordination announced the organization of a national protest in front of the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports in Rabat, carrying the red badge, from Monday, September 30, to October 4.

In this context, coordination revealed that the causes of tension still exist within the sector, warning that the demands of many educational groups were not responded to in the sectoral and central dialogues, while it gave sufficient time to achieve all the outstanding demands of educational groups, both general and joint.

Signs of congestion within the sector, according to the same source, are evident in the current school attendance, which is characterized by several problems, including overcrowding, cancellation of support directed to students, school waste, faltering enrollment in educational institutions, as well as the high cost of school supplies, and the absence of facilities in many educational institutions. The delay in preparing and providing logistics, especially for leading institutions, is a reason for protest, according to him.

In a related context, the coordination criticized the failure to circulate supplementary compensation for the preparatory and primary schools and educational and social specialists, the Ministry’s failure to fulfill the outcomes of union dialogues, and the failure of teachers to receive 1,000 dirhams in exchange for correcting certification examination papers.

On the other hand, the same source denounced the failure to set fair and transparent standards for assigning secondary school teachers and middle school teachers, and leaving the matter in the hands of managers according to arbitrary standards, not to mention the failure to withdraw all disciplinary and retaliatory decisions from suspended professors and competent staff, and the failure to commit to reducing and unifying working hours.

This comes at a time when other coordination and bodies have announced
In the education sector, it has announced that it will go on protests and go on strike on October 5, claiming that its files are still pending, a year after the start of the educational movement.
