THE GOVERNOR said an overnight Ukrainian drone strike killed two people in Russia’s Belgorod region early Saturday morning.
A residential building and a warehouse in the village of Poroz were “burnt down” in the attack, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. Other residential buildings suffered extensive damage.
“As a result of the release of two explosive devices, a private residential building caught fire. Tragically, two civilians were killed — a woman who was recovering from a broken femur, and a man who was caring for her,” Gladkov wrote in Telegram.
“The child of the deceased managed to escape from the burning house at the last moment.”
He said rescue workers were on site and excavation of the area would be carried out during daylight hours.
Earlier, he reported another Ukrainian drone attack on the village of Istobnoye, with no casualties.
