2. Event in the SimRacing Cup started in West Virginia: Greth brothers fight for top places in summery weather

(Stadthagen / Rodenberg) With outside temperatures of over 30 degrees, the brothers Timo (16) and Nico (12) Greth, drivers from Stadthäger Motor Club eV in ADAC, started their second race in the winter season in SimRacing.

Unfortunately, this summer weather is not real late in the afternoon in Rodenberg, but only digitally on the home computer at the Summit Point Motorsports Park, where the races for beginners and junior drivers were held. Each event consists of a qualification and two rating races.

Timo, a starter in the entry-level class, started race 1 from twelfth place out of 13 participants. He was able to fight his way up to eighth place, but then received a drive-through penalty for causing a collision, which led to eleventh place. With seventh on the grid, race 2 started much better. In the meantime even the fifth place was there and there were tough fights between the young drivers. After a small but time-consuming excursion into the gravel bed, he fell back to eighth place and was able to reach seventh place again at the finish line.

Nico’s field of juniors consisted of 14 participants, although he had to start at the back. He was able to get his passengers behind him up to tenth place, but he too made a trip into the countryside and was then only able to cross the finish line last. Race 2 started from twelfth place. A major accident at the start, in which Nico was not involved, ensured that he was able to move up to fourth position. But then it involved him in two collisions and again it was twelfth place. In early February, the third event will take place virtually in Connecticut at Lime Rock Park.
