Hakka TV stated that Tang Chuan was admitted to the hospital last March due to two strokes and continued treatment for lung infection. His condition improved for a while. His family had expected to celebrate his 70th birthday in April, but he still lost to the disease and died on the 13th. He left behind a figure and many wonderful works, let everyone infinitely miss.

Born in Tangchuan, Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County in 1952, his real name was Zeng Junsong, and he was called “Brother Chuan” and “Papa Chuan” by his descendants. At the age of 20, he participated in the actor training course of China TV company and graduated, and has been engaged in theater, radio, film and television performance and production for nearly half a century since then. Tang Chuan has been concerned about the promotion and inheritance of Hakka language and culture for a long time. The image of Brother Ritou, who plays drums and speaks cross talk in the oral art program “Under the Sun, Moonlight”, is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. He recently won the Ministry of Education’s 111-year Local Language Promotion Award for Outstanding Contribution individual award.
