Director Ramasimhan (Ali Akbar) said that those who have created trolls and attacked him for two years are afraid of the truth that will come out through the movie ‘1921: Puzha Todi Puzha Wapa’. Ali Akbar said that people who are afraid of such are tearing down the posters of his film in many parts of the state.
In the name of freedom of speech, the BBC documentary is being shown across the country. But he also launched a widespread attack once morest his film. Posters of the movie were pasted following taking permission from the corporation. But following this, a group of people came and tore the posters. Fear of the truth coming out is behind the trolls and attacks. Seeing the cruel trolls coming once morest him, even the CPM members have given money for the production of the film.
Ali Akbar said that many people tried their best to stop the movie ‘1921: Puzha To Puzha Hapa’. At first they tried to stop the filming. Officials were dispatched to the location and were constantly threatened. After the film was completed, the censor board was not ready to censor and give the certificate. This is why the court was approached. Even following the favorable judgment of the court, the certificate was withheld. When there was no way out, a complaint was sent to the Prime Minister. The director said that the Prime Minister’s office would have intervened and issued the certificate within four days.
The government is building a memorial to those who killed in 1921 and mourning those who were killed. When it was announced that Prithviraj would be making a film with the title Wariyamkunnan as the lead, he came forward to criticize Wariyamkunnan. Four films were announced that day, including Prithviraj’s film with a budget of Rs 80 crore. But only his film, made with the money given by the people, is completed and reaches the theatres. Prithviraj jumped into cinema without studying history. Director Ali Akbar said that he withdrew when he realized the truth. Historian K. Madhavan Nair only talks regarding the Malabar riots in his film. He does not see history through green and red glasses.
The film was completed on a budget of around two and a half crore rupees. Two crore rupees have been extorted from the public. People gave money through bank account. GST has been paid for this. The account has been audited. Anyone can check. Filming was done for fifty days at a cost of Rs 250,000 per day. Completed post production work. Malayalam and Hindi versions are being released with this amount. Still, many people are crying and accusing him on social media that he has cheated the money given by the people. Ali Akbar said that none of the accusers had given him money.
The film is releasing in 86 theaters in the state in response to those who trolled and attacked him. The film was paid for by common people. It is impractical to pay each of them back their investment if the film makes a profit. Therefore, it has been decided to give this amount to the society through social service, Ali Akbar said.
The company ‘Mamadharma’ formed for the production of the film will be registered as a trust. The money received from the theaters of the film will be spent on various social service projects through this trust. Ali Akbar said that in collaboration with Seva Bharati, they aim to build houses for five homeless people and pay the medical expenses of the patients.
