The 2nd Children of Atatürk Painting Exhibition, organized by the Ministry of National Education, was opened at the Event and Culture Hall in Central Nicosia.
Officials from the Ministry of National Education, families and children attended the exhibition, which was opened by President Ersin Tatar, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and Director of Primary Education Department Hakkı Sıra.
10 public schools, 2 private schools, 3 kindergartens from the District of Nicosia, in the exhibition where the students painted the subjects of “national sovereignty”, “love of homeland and homeland”, “homeland and world peace”, freedom”, “longing for Atatürk”. There were pictures of 133 students, including 1 from a special education school.
The exhibition will be open until Sunday, April 23.
Making the first speech at the exhibition, Director of Primary Education Department Hakkı Savaş said that the second exhibition was held this year, which they made traditional as part of the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Mentioning the importance of the April 3 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which Atatürk gave to children as a gift, Success stated that this year’s events will be carried out sadly due to the earthquake that took place in Turkey on February 6, which is described as the disaster of the century, and the children of our country lost in the earthquake.
Stating that their aim is to instill the love of Atatürk in future generations, Basari noted that the children portrayed the love of Atatürk in the exhibition.
Success celebrated all children’s April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu pointed out that the second event was held this year, and stated that the Turkish Grand National Assembly was established 103 years ago and 23 April was presented to children by Atatürk.
Stating that as the Ministry of National Education, they are working to raise the country to the level of contemporary civilizations and continuing their struggle for the children they will entrust the future, Minister Çavuşoğlu said that they are advancing their work in the Kemalist vision by embracing Atatürk’s principles every day.
Minister Çavuşoğlu said, “We are advancing as a whole with the motherland Turkey and the Turkish nation” and that April 23 was celebrated not as a single day as in the past, but by spreading the events over a week.
Minister Çavuşoğlu, who said that Atatürk’s revolutions shed light on the country, congratulated the families for their dedication to raising their children and celebrated the 23rd April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day for all children.
President Ersin Tatar also expressed his pleasure at participating in the opening of the exhibition and emphasized the importance of 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which Atatürk gifted to his children.
President Tatar stated that their most important goal while governing the state is to raise the children and young people to whom they will entrust the future as Kemalist individuals in the best way possible.
Pointing out the importance of giving children an opportunity to reveal their talents, President Tatar said, “We love you, we trust you and we celebrate your holiday.”
