The Regau-based company, which specializes in the production of bicycles for international and domestic manufacturers, was founded in 2020. Among other things, WSF Bicycle Technology orders the components, takes care of assembly, painting and delivery. A collapse in customer orders has now led to the declaration of insolvency, reports Iris Scharitzer from the Austrian association Creditreform.
Another cause is delivery delays; orders might not be completed due to missing parts. As the Alpine Creditors Association reports, recently only 300 bikes might be manufactured per month instead of 1,500.
The number of employees was reduced from 49 to 15. Around 300 creditors are also affected. The company also has a branch in Taiwan. The total amount of liabilities is said to amount to 2.3 million euros. Creditors are offered a quota of 20 percent.
