1st Offshoring Day of Drâa-Tafilalet

The Drâa-Tafilalet Regional Investment Center organized, under the presidency of Mr. Wali, and in partnership with the institutional and economic actors of the region, the 1st day of the Offshoring of Drâa-Tafilalet. This day was held at the Oulad El Haj complex in Errachidia, and had as its theme “Digital and linguistic skills in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, a lever for regional digital inclusion at the service of Offshoring professions”.

In accordance with the missions of the CRI, and in particular those relating to the economic impulse and the territorial offer, this first Drâa-Tafilalet Offshoring Day was designed to affirm the desire of the Region and its entire ecosystem to position itself among the target destinations of investors in the Offshoring sector, the leading sector providing jobs for young people in our country, and to concretize the territorial offer in this area. Drâa-Tafilalet has many advantages for the development of an Offshoring ecosystem, which is why several potential investors interested in setting up their Offshoring activities in the short term have traveled from different cities or from foreigner to participate in the work of the day.

The opening was given by Mr. Bouchaab YAHDIH, Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region who, to underline the importance of the Offshoring sector, the interest of organizing a day dedicated to it as well as the relevance of the choice of theme, has wisely chosen to refer to the message that HM King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, addressed to the 15th summit of La Francophonie in Dakar in 2014, affirming: “… We are proud in Morocco of a singular historical legacy fruit of our openness to the world, itself synonymous, for centuries, with the fusion of cultures,

accumulation of knowledge and growth of trade. Today, the proportion of our citizens who speak foreign languages ​​such as French, Spanish or English is a real asset, as shown by the significant development of the Offshoring sector in recent years…» As for the President of the Regional Council of Drâa-Tafilalet, he presented the projects that the Region has programmed in its Regional Development Plan, in particular the two Offshoring center projects, Tafilalet Shore and Drâa Shore, for which an envelope overall budget of 180 MDhs has been allocated.

The Director General of the CRI shared for his part with the assistance a panorama of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, his vision for its future development, its sectors of excellence, and above all its assets and advantages to conquer the Offshoring sector. , headed by qualified human resources, unparalleled student excellence recognized both nationally and internationally, and which enjoys high-level digital and linguistic skills.

Mrs. Lalla Kenza EL ALAOUI, Director General for Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Trade recalled the various incentive measures granted by the State to encourage the development of the offshoring sector, subject of the circular of the Chief Government, n°8/2022 of April 08, 2022. Mrs. EL ALAOUI did not fail to also affirm the commitment of her ministry to contribute to the development of Offshoring in Drâa-Tafilalet.

The Director of the Digital Ecosystem at the Digital Development Agency and the Director of Marketing and Communication at ANAPEC respectively affirmed the commitment of ADD and ANAPEC to support this commendable initiative aimed at the development of Digital and Offshoring in Drâa-Tafilalet.

Other interventions, organized in two panels, enriched the program of this Offshoring day. A panel brought together the Managing Director of Barid Media, the president of the offshoring division of the Moroccan Federation of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Offshoring (APEBI) and potential companies and investors of the sector. The second panel brought together representatives of professional and academic training organizations, namely the OFPPT, the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques of Errachidia (FSTE) and the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate (FPO), as well as representatives of the ‘ANAPEC. The various speakers on this panel presented the attractive figures and statistics of their respective organizations in terms of training offers available and provided, as well as the pool of trained and qualified candidates for the job categories that investors in the 1is panel came to pick up in Drâa-Tafilalet.

On the sidelines of this meeting, a partnership agreement was signed between the CRI-DT and the APEBI, relating to the creation of the seventh regional branch of the federation. Similarly, a memorandum of understanding for the development of industrial zones in Drâa-Tafilalet and a city of knowledge (P2I) was also signed.

Before closing the day, an exchange session was granted to facilitate the first contacts between investors and young students, interns and graduates who attended this event organized mainly to promote their skills and raise their image and employability capital. .

With this first act, Drâa-Tafilalet is on the right track to ensure the successful emergence of the Offshoring sector and contribute to the promising growth of the said sector in the Kingdom.
