The clash of minors took place shortly before 11:00 at the 1st EPAL of Lavrio. The first reports speak of two wounded, by knife, while 13 arrests have been made. The people involved are all students of EPAL and a 16-year-old student is wanted as the perpetrator of the bloody attack. According to police sources, some of those involved in the incident came from the areas of Lavrio and Keratea. Until now, the reason for the fight between the two groups of minors from Keratea and Lavrio has not been known.
A 16-year-old who is wanted allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed two people in the thigh. The injured were taken to the hospital with minor injuries for first aid. Officials of EL.AS rushed to the scene.
Information from the police indicates that two scenarios are being considered for the wild incident. The first version states that everything was done for the eyes of a girl. The second, however, claims that there is a rivalry between students from Lavrio and Keratea, as it is alleged that a few days ago there was a related fight.

In her case Hermione the victim of not a simple bullying was a minor student just 12 years old. The incident took place yesterday (24/09/24) at 11 am in the courtyard of the school and the two perpetrators were students of the 3rd Lyceum who attacked the child with a machete, shaved his mustache and grabbed 2 euros from him.
To Hermione, the scene seems unimaginable. During the break, the two 17-year-old students approached the 1st High School student and without any reason started cursing and threatening him. One of the two then took out a razor and stuck it to the 12-year-old’s face and then shaved off his moustache. They grabbed the 2 euros he had from his pocket and as if nothing had happened they went to the hall to continue their lesson.
The little boy told his mother everything, as a result of which the two perpetrators and their parents were arrested.
In the second event at Transformation the 16-year-old victim made a date with a friend of his age to resolve their differences, and then the attacker viciously attacked him with punches and kicks in the head. Specifically, shortly after 8:00 p.m. on (22/09/24), at the junction of Parnithos and L. Tatoiou streets, in Metamorfosi, the defendant, after a prearranged meeting with the student, in order to resolve differences they had between them, of attacked with punches in the head and ribs, as a result of which he was injured.

Police officers of the T.A. Metamorphosis, they went to EPAL where the perpetrator is a student, they found him at 12:30 noon on Monday (23/09/2024), they took him to the police station and arrested him.

“Plant”, “good student”, “absentist who didn’t cover them”, “beautiful”. These characterizations were the cause of what was initially a jealous “havale”, a “joke” between underage girls, and developed into endless bullying, constant bullying in the school environment, mass bullying and dangerously merciless beatings.
The 14-year-old Argyro, who was accused of these characterizations by two of her classmates and had turned a large part of the students against her, was trying to deal with the difficult situation that had been created for her on her own. Unfortunately she hadn’t said anything to her parents. Her 46-year-old father learned from the police officers of the Southeast Attica Security Directorate what was happening to his child in the last months. One of the classmates who took part in this psychological and physical bullying had been removed from another high school in the area due to extreme aggression.
The verbal attacks by at least two 14-year-old girls and one 16-year-old girl against her began last May and through an orchestrated bullying and harassment in the school environment turned into extreme physical violence at the start of the school year, on September 7, and on September 21, last Saturday , on Lazaraki Street in Glyfada.
The three juvenile defendants appear to have been… jealous of the 14-year-old girl for his performance and good looks, as they believed. The previous Saturday, Argyro was at the specific spot where more than 20 young people were gathered, including her two 14-year-old classmates. They started cursing, threatening and intimidating her.
The physical attack against her was carried out by a 16-year-old, a friend of the 14-year-old girls, who went up behind Argyro and punched her in the face, then grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the ground, with the 14-year-old trying to defend herself and to avoid the blows. Although the attack initially appeared to be over, it continued a few meters away when the three juvenile accused attacked her again, with the beating taking on a mass character.

Argyro’s parents took her from the Glyfada area and then filed a lawsuit for threats, insults, physical harm against her two 14-year-old classmates, but also the 16-year-old, who was later identified as the one who started punching her.
In the context of the preliminary investigation, Argyros’ father testified, as she is a minor, stating that his daughter has been facing bullying problems from her two classmates since last May. On September 7, 2024, a similar incident occurred on Konstantinoupoleos Street in Glyfada, where the two 14-year-olds, along with other people, cursed, threatened and attacked her.
After the lawsuit, the police arrested the two 14-year-old girls, as well as their parents, for neglecting to supervise a minor. The juveniles, as well as their parents, were released on a verbal order from a prosecutor, as is customary in cases of misdemeanor bodily harm among minors. The formation of a case file and its submission to the Athens District Attorney was ordered. It is possible that in the next year the judicial officer will order the weekly monitoring of the two minor girls by a social worker. At the same time, the police officers identified the 16-year-old who attacked Argyros with fists and called her and her parents to give a statement and explanations.

A 46% increase in juvenile delinquency within 8 months is recorded according to official data from the Hellenic Police, which demonstrate upward trends in several crime indicators.
The number of arrests of minors “climbed” in the first 8 months of the year to 8,978, while a year ago the arrests did not exceed 6,157. On average, every day of the year, the authorities proceed to arrest 37 students… Elementary, middle and high school, with the number estimated to exceed 10,000 by the end of 2024. The charges involve drugs, beatings, robberies, thefts, burglaries and all kinds of crimes.
Police sources emphasize that the increase partly results from the large number of weekly targeted actions carried out in the last year by EL.AS units. in juvenile detention centers throughout the country, but this does not mean that the problem does not exist. The Police has mapped the problematic areas of occurrence of incidents and will deal with juvenile delinquency with modern methods.
The controls of EL.AS. within a year they increased by 41%, while imports by 26%. And yet, the same statistics also reflect the greatest need for policing, due to the ever-increasing crime rate.
