Le Groupe Agricultural credit of Morocco (CAM) strengthens its commitment to young project leaders and to the sustainable development of mountain areas

The 1st edition of the national “Green Jobs” competition took place on May 26 and 27, 2022 in Rabat. This event is part of the support program for green Moroccan start-ups led by young people in rural and mountain areas, carried out jointly by the German cooperation GIZ, the National Agency for Water and Forests and the Agricultural credit from Morocco.

With more than 200 applications submitted for the competition, the 20 projects selected revolve around the sectors of ecotourism and trades in natural areas, the development of natural resources and local products and fish farming. These projects are located in the following 4 regions: Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Fez-Meknes, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Béni Mellal-Khénifra.

During the two days of the event, the 20 finalists benefited from a series of capacity building workshops. Among these 20 finalists who defended their project in plenary in front of the jury, 10 winners were selected following deliberation. They will be supported by the CAM in terms of technical and entrepreneurial capacity building to enable them to access appropriate funding and develop their projects.

Through this project, the CAM and its partners contribute to the emergence of innovative projects and the creation of green jobs in mountain areas, in line with the “Forests of Morocco 2020-2030” strategy aimed at making the sector more inclusive and wealth-creating forester.
