Vienna (OTS) – On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the City of Vienna – Roads Administration and Road Construction will begin the construction of a structurally separate two-way cycle path on Krottenbachstrasse in the section between Cottagegasse and Flotowgasse. In addition, green areas will be created and trees planted in the project section.
Details
On the even-numbered side of Krottenbachstraße, a new two-way cycle path, around 300 meters long and 2.40 to 3 meters wide, is being built in the section between Cottagegasse and Flotowgasse. In the course of the construction of the cycle path, four new green areas will be created between Cottagegasse and Obkirchergasse and a total of five trees will be planted. Furthermore, in order to increase traffic safety, sidewalk extensions will be erected on the streets that lead into Krottenbachstrasse (Obkirchergasse, Friedlgasse and Flotowgasse).
traffic measures
Basically, the construction work on Krottenbachstraße takes place during the day while maintaining one lane in each direction of travel. During the work in the section from Flotowgasse to Obkirchergasse, Krottenbachstrasse will run from Flotowgasse to and in the direction of Obkirchergasse as a provisional one-way street. The diversion in the direction of Salmannsdorf is via Obkirchergasse, Hutweidengasse and Budinskygasse. For the duration of the diversion, Hutweidengasse will run from Obkirchergasse to and in the direction of Budinskygasse as a provisional one-way street. In addition, the one-way route of Sailäckergasse between Budinskygasse and Flotowgasse will be reversed during the construction period. The bus stop for lines 35 A and N 35 “Flotowgasse” in the direction of Salmannsdorf will be closed without replacement for the duration of the diversion. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained.
