With 185 million copies sold across all generations, GTA V is the second most successful in video game history, just behind Minecraft and all of its versions. Obviously, this success is due to the players, who do not seem to get tired of the title. On this subject, the record allegedly established by one of them is debated.

GTA V is tireless! GTA 6 will have a lot to do

Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013. This means that at the end of the year, it will celebrate its 10th anniversary. A decade during which the game will have been made available on three generations of consoles, accompanied by its incomparable online fashion. It is essentially the latter ensures the longevity of the game, which does not seem ready to leave its place. We talk a lot regarding Grand Theft Auto VI, but all we’ve seen is an alpha version that no longer corresponded to reality when it leaked.

In the meantime, the players have a blast on GTA Online, whether on content and events concocted by Rockstar, thanks to mods, or even through the many Role Play servers available. In this regard, let us recall that the Cfx.re team, who manages the servers of the biggest RP community in the game, was recently recruited by the studio. The idea is to immediately be able to take advantage of the team’s skills, even if some observers fear that Rockstar will tighten the screw as to what they can do next.

Nearly 20 thousand hours of gameplay!? This Reddit user is causing a lot of reaction!

For now, everything is happening on GTA V, and a player recently made the headlines on Reddit. Some Big_Search9299 posted an image of his Steam interface, which says he’s played 19,000 hours to the game from Rockstar Games. By converting this total into days, we get 791.6 days, more than two years. This same user specifies that he was never “AFK” i.e. connected but inactive (Away From Keyboard). Obviously, such a number of hours, especially presented as being the total of the effective playing time, seems suspicious and caused a lot of reaction.

The analysis of the image does not bring out any particular trick, but many doubt the authenticity or the health of the player. One user joking that the majority understand loading times, while another indicates that this corresponds to 6 hours of play per day since the initial releaseand it seems unbelievable.

others speak bluntly regarding addiction or state outright that there is nothing to be proud of. Overall, many do not seem to understand how it is possible to have spent so much time on the title. Be that as it may, and assuming that this number of hours is real, it broke the record of Jamcar70, who had become a billionaire on GTA Online in September 2022 following playing 18,340 hours. This previous record seemed unbeatable but, like all records, it would eventually fall.
