Tristian Loran, a 19-year-old actor and dancer, was found dead, apparently shot in the head, inside a vacant apartment at a NYCHA complex in the Bronx.
Police discovered Loran’s body inside a 14th floor apartment at Castle Hill Houses on Havemeyer Ave. near Randall Ave. after receiving a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
“He had a whole future going for him,” he told Daily News the victim’s sister, Victoria Sierra Loran. “We were supposed to leave the neighborhood together.”
Loran lived with her family in a private apartment building half a mile from Castile Hill Houses. He had a promising future in entertainment after landing minor roles on TV shows like “The Last OG,” “Blindspot” and “Oprah’s Master Class”, said her heartbroken mother, Selena Sierra. “His sister liked to dance and he got into it and then he got into hip-hop break dancing,” she said.
Loran had a hole in his head when he was found dead, but investigators were still working to confirm whether the wound was caused by a bullet, police sources said. The death has been ruled a homicide by the NYPD, but no arrests have been made.
A neighbor said he has seen strange activity around the apartment in recent months, since the family that occupied it left late last year.
“I would see people wearing these full-face ski masks coming and going,” the unidentified neighbor said. “Usually, they would be with girls.”
Loran got a scholarship to take lessons at the Dance Theater of Harlem, said his mother, who took him and his sister to dance competitions in New York, South Carolina, Maryland, Connecticut and New Jersey. Loran was one of seven siblings and they all acted, danced, modeled and had extracurricular hobbies growing up.
