Several calls were received about a shooting in central Hallstahammar. A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Several patrols rushed to the scene and a cordon was set up pending a technical investigation.
Resources in the form of, among other things, a helicopter and dog participated in the effort. For some time, public transport past Hallstahammar was affected. Several witnesses were heard in the case and door knocking was carried out.
Anyone who has seen something that can help the police is asked to call 11414, alternatively 112 if the situation is urgent.
Relatives are informed of the death. The case is being investigated as a murder.

In the subsequent investigative work, a person has been arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder. Following the decision of the prosecutor, the person is now under arrest.
The deceased man is 25 years old.
The police are keen on further observations and tips from the public. Tips about both people and vehicles that moved in the area, both before, during and after the incident are of interest. If you have tips, call the police on 114 14 or 112 for urgent tips.
