19 billion dirhams granted for the benefit of 15,400 VSMEs – Today Morocco

The BCP Group has reaffirmed its commitment to the economic fabric of VSMEs through the various national and local initiatives undertaken in favor of this segment.

They are about 15,400 very small and medium-sized enterprises (TPME) to benefit from the financial support of the People’s Central Bank (BCP). The Group granted this workforce total financing of 19 billion dirhams, thus reaffirming BCP’s commitment to this economic fabric, through the various national and local initiatives undertaken.

“As part of the Integrated Business Support and Financing Program (PIAFE), the BCP Group, through its Business Creations Foundation (FCE), has contributed to the creation of nearly 650 businesses, to the holding of more than 320 training sessions, to the support of more than 10,300 project leaders and VSEs, through assistance in the development of business plans and financing files as well as the organization of training sessions in e-learning and webinars”, indicates the Group in its financial communication. In 2022, the BCP continued its actions to support companies, through the organization of caravans and road shows, including “Les Régionales de l’investissement”, which made it possible to identify a potential of more than 1,400 projects for a total amount of 25.4 billion dirhams. In terms of financial inclusion, the banking group has multiplied its actions in favor of targeted populations.

In this regard, the Attawfiq Microfinance Foundation financed, in 2022, 142,000 people carrying out income-generating activities for an amount exceeding 2 billion dirhams. “At the end of December 2022, the Foundation had nearly 264,000 active customers to its credit, of which 54% are women, 54% are young people aged 18 to 30 and 21% are from the rural population”, recalls the banking group. . With regard to financial achievements, the Group indicates that they are in line with the economic context. “Incorporating all of these achievements in Morocco and the development of subsidiaries in sub-Saharan Africa, the financial results of the BCP Group demonstrate resilience in the face of a turbulent economic context”, explains the Group.

In this regard, the consolidated net banking income (NBP) strengthened slightly by 2.6%, thus reaching 20.6 billion dirhams. Consolidated net income stands at 3.5 billion dirhams, up on 2021 but still below the 2019 pre-crisis level.
