Some 18,846 Burkinabe have taken refuge in the northern and northeastern areas of Côte d’Ivoire, following attacks by terrorist groups in their country, reported a statement from the national security council, chaired on Thursday by the head of the State Alassane Ouattara.

This measure also allowed “the identification and ongoing development of two transit sites in the departments of Ouangolodougou and Bouna, intended to temporarily accommodate these refugees, pending their return to their country of origin”. , the statement added.
