The man was arrested, the Burgenland State Police Directorate confirmed a newspaper report on Monday. Both are Kosovar citizens. A small-caliber rifle was seized in the apartment, a spokesman said in response to an APA request.
Threatened with a weapon
The suspect is said to have threatened the 18-year-old with a weapon and wanted to force her to have sexual intercourse. The woman was able to escape and was noticed by a neighbor who called the police. Whether the two were in a relationship and whether it was the alleged perpetrator’s apartment is still the subject of the investigation.
In any case, the small-caliber rifle found inside was confiscated. The arrested man was taken to the prison on the orders of the Eisenstadt public prosecutor’s office and an application was made for pretrial detention.
