From Friday April 1, 2022, the government in France is introducing a discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel for everyone. How it works ?
A fuel price subsidy, called fuel discountis applied to fuel prices from Friday April 1 in France. It is valid for all motorists, farmers, craftsmen, construction, taxis, truck drivers and fishermen.
Why did it go from 15 to 18 cents?
The government had initially announced a reduction of 15 cents. It is ultimately 18 cents due to the impact of VAT which is not the same throughout the territory (in Corsica in particular). It will cost three billion euros to the state budget.
The discount of 18 cents is applied by the suppliers and not directly by the service stations.
